Much-Needed Break!

So, the past few weeks have been crazy and I just found out that I get a few days of break from all of that!

Knowing myself, I would use this time to unleash my inner fan girl. Yes, this is my idea of fun :D

Here's a rough plan of what I'm about to do. No shame!

Thursday
- be on the lookout for Hook sneak peeks for OUAT
- visit Captain Swan tag
- watch Peter Pan (1953)

Friday
- watch Iron Man 3
- be on the lookout for Hook sneak peeks for OUAT
- visit Captain Swan tag
- watch latest TVD episode
- continue reading Mark of Athena or The Fault In Our Stars (hard to finish when I don't want it to end!)

Saturday
- be on the lookout for Hook sneak peeks for OUAT
- visit Captain Swan tag
- watch the latest Game of Thrones episode
- re-read Hunger Games Trilogy
- watch THG/CF-related videos on youtube
- read Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
Sunday
- get ready for the new OUAT episode! Hook has been missed. Captain Swan scenes, manifest!
- be on the lookout for Hook sneak peeks for OUAT
- visit Captain Swan tag
- watch movie assignment
- practice for Monday

If it's not obvious, I am obsessed over Hook and Emma and I cannot for the life of me refrain from going over to the Captain Swan tag on tumblr at least 5x a day. That's also why I'm watching/reading Peter Pan. To get into people's theory that Captain Hook is Peter Pan in OUAT. Sigh. What a life.

How I'll Spend my Holy Week Here In Baguio

It's still just Tuesday but I went out today and I already saw lots of tourists!

For those of you planning to spend Holy Week 2013 here in my hometown, I'd like to share with you how we spend our Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday, maybe you can come join us! :)

First of all, I just want to say that my family is very religious. My aunt and uncle are foster parents in Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary and participate a lot in church activities. That's the church me, my mom, and my grandma frequent as well.We like going there for a lot of reasons including:

- It's a much smaller church than say, Baguio Cathedral, so the mass is more...intimate, I guess. In Cathedral, there are sooo many people and it can be very distracting, especially with their sound system being, well, not good. It's easy to just not listen and be bothered by the people around you because you can't understand what the priest is saying most of the time, anyway.

- They do things with more, for lack of a better word... flair. I like it because I get so much more into it. It does count, you know. At least for me and my family. For example, In other churches, the services are done so draggingly it's killing you to stay awake and participate. Like, when the commentator sounds like a robot just muttering words/responses automatically without meaning them or the choir haven't practiced and keeps on messing up. I feel like Recoletos have at least overcome these things. I have to recognize them for making efforts to make people more engaged and invested in church activities, too. For example, on Holy Thursdays, they re-enact the washing of the feet. On Black Saturday,, during the Easter Vigil mass at night, in the beginning it'll be so dark, the lights are all off, you'll just each have candles, etc., to signify mourning because Christ hasn't risen yet and so on. Stuff like that. Some may argue that these things are unneccessary but for me it makes the whole experience more... more, ya know? :)

Now, I just want to share their schedule of services because I feel like Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary deserves to draw crowds as much as Baguio Cathedral or St. Joseph Parish. You're gonna have to excuse me, though, for I am not entirely sure of the times in this schedule. haha! Might be 1 hour off max. I'll update this list as soon as I know the exact details :D

If you need to know now, you may call them at (074)-442-2823

Lemongrass: Plant and Tea Benefits

As I write this, I am enjoying a cup of Lemongrass Tea myself. :)

I got introduced to this plant by my uncle, who was planting this in front of their house sometime last year. He said he's planting some near the doorway because it helps in keeping mosquitoes away. He said we should plant some in ours as well.

I said, "Yeah, right." Plants don't keep mosquitoes away.

I got Dengue Fever a few months after.

Well.

I don't know if I could've prevented that freaking mosquito from biting me but now that I'd already gotten sick, I can't risk another bite anymore! Dengue can be fatal the second time around, ya know.

Lemongrass is pretty easy to grow.

gardeningblog.net says:

"Home gardeners don’t typically start lemongrass plants from seed because it is so easy to start by just rooting stalks or cuttings.
Actually, you may even be able to start a new lemongrass plant from fresh stalks you purchase at the regular grocery store. As long as they are still firm and green, you should be able to get them to root. Snip off an inch or two from the end of the leaves, and put the base end in a glass of water. Leave somewhere sunny, and you should start to see roots sprouting from the bottom of the stalk in about a week or two.
Once your stalk has roots at least an inch long, you can either plant it in a container for indoor growing or take it right out into the garden."

I swear they grow so fast! And because they do, my uncle takes some and makes lemongrass tea.

I googled Lemongrass Tea uses and benefits and so far, here's what I've found:

- If you drink before bedtime, it helps with insomnia
- Relieves nausea
- Aids in digestion
- Helps relieve constipation
- Has vitamin A for clearer eyesight and brighter skin
- Has calming effect
- Has antioxidant properties that help keep liver, pancreas and even your skin healthy
- Helps keep cholesterol levels down
- Helps regulate blood pressure
- Helps relieve PMS symptoms - yay!
- Prevents cramps
- Fights arthritis
- Prevents anemia
- Prevents osteoporosis

*IMPT: Lemongrass tea is not recommended for pregnant wome.

Also, I've read somewhere that people living in faraway places use lemongrass tea on sick people to relieve them of whatever symptoms they're having before they can take the person to a doctor. They said it lowers the temperature of those who have fever.

If you know more lemongrass tea benefits or uses, tell me below in the comments!

Phew! Now, I can't vouch for all that but I can definitely say it helped me with constipation haha. Is that embarrassing to say? Whatever. The others, no chance to observe, I guess. I mean, I only gave in because of the whole constipation thing so as long as it does that job then I'll be drinking this forevuhh.

Also, one time I went out to have lunch with my mom, I got car sick on the way over to the restaurant so I ordered the lemongrass tea to just sniff it. lol. It worked! I felt better! Now, I always order that when I go to Pizza Volante here in Baguio. The only other restaurant here that I know serves lemongrass tea is Everything Nice.

Because I love the food in both restos, and they both serve lemongrass tea, both are highly recommended!

Pizza Volante has branches in:
-Session Road (right side, going up)
-Romulo Drive (beside Wright park and Ketchup Food Community)
-Camp John Hay Technohub

Everything Nice Branches:
-Camp John Hay Technohub
-SM City Baguio (but this one's just a dessert stall, not sure if they serve lemongrass tea over there.)

Know more places that serve this tea here in Baguio or in Manila? Tell me in the comments below!

LB: Looks From the Beginning

I've been on Lookbook for a while but I haven't really posted much because, well, my camera sucks and I can never take good pictures with it. I've been wanting to post new ones but I need a camera first. I'm poor, though, so guess that won't happen anytime soon :)

But here are the ones I have. Can I just say that I hate that my looks don't show up on the "new" page over there because I have low karma :( So help me by hyping if you like them!

DIY: Ring Storage / Organizer

I love rings! If you do too and you have a lot, you know how hard it is to keep track of all of them.

I've always needed a ring organizer wherein I can easily see everything and get anything at once but I didn't want to shell out money for it. heh heh. So I went over to cutoutandkeep.net and I found THIS tutorial on how to make one.

Take a look at what I came up with!

What do you think, eh? I did not spend anything on this, by the way. I just used stuff I found around the house. I'm all for recycling, yo! :)

Materials I used:
empty Ferrero Rocher container
old sweater
ribbon (optional)
old pieces of cloth (I used my mom's old leopard print pants)
glue gun (or super glue)
scissors

You can substitute the Ferrero box with whatever you have. :) The stuff I used are also different from what the one who made the tutorial used but that's because I had a different design in mind! So get creative with yours!

Go over to the link above for the tutorial! I swear it's super easy and I love the fact that instead of the materials going to waste, I found an awesome way to repurpose them!

If you're making one, I wanna see! Post a link to the comments below! :)
